OAK RIDGE, TN (October 13, 2009) – This month, as many students are taking time to relax during fall break, a group of students from Western Kentucky University traveled to East Tennessee to be a part of Habitat for Humanity of Anderson County’s building and rehab efforts. The group, made up of nine members of Western Kentucky University’s Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter, worked on reinforcing the drainage system at Habitat’s Hickory Ridge Subdivision in Clinton as well as rehab work on a house in Oak Ridge.
Habitat for Humanity of Anderson County would like to offer special thanks to the following groups, businesses, and individuals who helped provide hospitality for the volunteers: Patty and Dave Campbell, First Presbyterian Church, Taco Bell, and Venice Pizza & Grill.
Habitat for Humanity of Anderson County, an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, is an ecumenical Christian ministry that welcomes to its work all people dedicated to the cause of eliminating poverty housing. Habitat for Humanity brings together people with resources and people in need to build and rehab simple, decent houses. The houses are sold to those in need at no profit, through zero interest loans.
